江户川乱步先生诞辰 130 周年将至,机缘巧合之下此片刚好完成了制作,不过立项时并没有意识到这点,而且考虑到这部奇片两极分化的评价,以及颇具抽象的怪诞剧情,作为诞辰纪念来说实在众心难悦,因此还是趁早发布。
As Mr. Edogawa Ranpo's 130th anniversary of birth approaches, we happened to complete this encoding by coincidence, unaware of the timing when we launched this project. Considering the polarization of comments on this oddity, in addition to the extremely abstract plot, we were concerned that it couldn't delight the audience as a memorial of the anniversary, so we decided to release this encoding as soon as possible.
原盘画质较差,是典型的 Lerche 制作规格:原生分辨率 720p,画面偏糊,而且有较重的色度问题。全片线条锐度一般,主要的问题是 Lerche 成片一贯的色度溢出和色度锯齿,部分场景还有拉升造成的锯齿。平面质量则好不少,覆有一层不错的噪点,加上还算过得去的编码,基本没什么色带。
The source looks quite poor, with a typical Lerche specification: a native resolution of 720p, blurry images, and severe chroma problems. The sharpness of the lines in this film is average, and the main issue is the consistent chroma bleeding and chroma aliasing of Lerche, with aliasing caused by upscaling in certain scenes in addition. The quality of flat area is much better instead, covered by fairish noise, plus tolerable encoding, so there isn't much banding on the whole.
处理上,首先用神经网络算法重构色度平面以改善色度质量提升观感,之后就是一些常规操作:逆向拉升重构、常规抗锯齿、保底去色带、补偿性锐化自适应降噪。由于 OP 和最后三集有大量高动态多特效的分镜,存在一定程度的欠码问题,主要是蚊噪和色块,我们使用了基于神经网络的修复算法进行处理。而后正片部分照常处理,OP 几乎就是艺术特效,消除欠码问题之后就没做进一步处理。ED 也基本是艺术特效,不过没有欠码问题,我们仅进行了自适应降噪,以保证特效的原汁原味。另外,多数场景在画面四周还有 2px 的烂边,我们也一并进行了修复。
When processing, we first reconstructed the chroma plane using a neural network algorithm to improve chroma quality and the viewing experience. Then, we applied some normal processing: descaling and reconstruction, normal anti-aliasing, minimum de-banding, and adaptive denoising. Due to the extensive hyperdynamic and multi-effect storyboards from OP and the last three episodes, there is a lack of bitrate reflected mainly in DCT noise and blocking, which we restored with an algorithm based on neural networks. After that, we processed the feature as normal; OP is almost an artistic effect, so we did nothing more but solve the problem of insufficient bitrate. ED is also an artistic effect but doesn't suffer insufficient bitrate, so we only applied adaptive denoising in order to maintain the original effect. Besides, most scenes have dirty edges of 2px around the image, which we restored together.
